Joint Tribute to Boston Marathoners

April 15, 2014

A local event, taking place at the same time as the 118th running of the Boston Marathon, will offer a showing of solidarity for runners, walkers and well-wishers looking to support the marathon for continuing in the wake of 2013’s tragic events.

The event, the Run as One Boston Marathon Tribute Run, will be held at noon on Monday, April 21 on the City Deck in downtown Green Bay. The event is free to the public.

A cooperative effort involving the Bellin Run, the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, Downtown Green Bay and the City of Green Bay, the run/walk will honor those killed or injured in the 2013 Boston Marathon tragedy while also celebrating the perseverance and strength of those in the Boston community and across the nation.

Participants can opt for a 1-, 2- or 3-mile course along the Fox River Trail. Runners and walkers are encouraged to wear blue and yellow attire, colors that are affiliated with the Boston Marathon.
