February 18, 2011
Sarah Reinertsen, a former contestant on the reality television show, “The Amazing Race,” will help kickoff the 2011 Bellin Run Corporate Challenge.
Reinertsen, the first female leg amputee to complete the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, will help foster a can-do attitude within Corporate Challenge participants by sharing her personal triumphs over adversity.
The kickoff event will be held from 7:30-9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Riverside Ballroom, 1560 Main St., Green Bay. A light breakfast will be provided.
The Corporate Challenge is a wellness program where local companies go head-to-head in friendly competition while promoting a healthier lifestyle. The program last year drew 198 company teams with 6,400 participants, 2,055 of which were first-timers.
There is no charge to the company to join. Employees pay the normal Bellin Run registration fee. The company and team enjoy the benefits, including an employee training program, pasta dinner discounts, and more.
The 35th annual Bellin Run will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 11. The 10K (6.2-mile) race winds through the streets of Green Bay and the nearby village of Allouez. A record-breaking 18,398 people registered for the race in 2010.
