Remember to fill the back of your Bellin Run bib
May 13, 2011
Your Bellin Run bib is more than a race day memento. It’s actually an integral part of your race day experience and can go a long way toward ensuring your safety.
Primarily, your bib indicates your position in the race corral. The Bellin Run uses a corral start system in which after the bang of the start gun, a continuous line of participants on the surrounding streets surges forward, grouped according to bib color, until all runners and walkers have crossed the start line. Your bib color indicates your anticipated pace time, and thus, your position in the corral.
An often overlooked function of your race bib is to record important medical information and an emergency contact.
All participants are encouraged to take the time to fill out the backs of their bibs. The information includes: your name; any potential medical issues or allergies; an emergency contact; and whether you are running with a school group or the Corporate Challenge.
Filling out the back of your bib is a precaution that will ensure your safety in the unlikely event of a medical emergency. Give yourself peace of mind and ensure an optimal race day experience by filling out the back of your bib.
