It’s Mile 5. You need that extra motivation. There’s music in the distance. “Great song,” you think as you approach. And then, just strides later, it fades away. Gone.
How do you fix this? Put in ear buds from a personal listening device and you’ll miss the cheering spectators, the cowbells and the encouragement from fellow participants – the energy of the race.
Our solution was to find a media partner willing to work with the Bellin Run to create a corridor of music. That partner is Star 98.
We’re going door-to-door on a half-mile stretch of Clay Street, asking neighborhood residents if they will turn their stereos to 98.5 FM on race day and “crank it up” so participants can enjoy the music and the excitement of the Bellin Run on the final mile.
To our knowledge, no event has ever done this before, so thank Star 98 and the Clay Street residents on your way through, as you enjoy five blocks of support and continuous music.
