Why I walk the Bellin Run: Mary Legault, De Pere
May 25, 2011
I have lost 123 pounds in the past few years and still have about 25 pounds more to lose.
I was on continuous oxygen just four years ago. Last year I walked the Bellin Run’s 1-mile course with the Back to the Road Crew (the program helps get orthopedic, cardiac rehab and general rehab patients active again after medical treatment). This year I am working hard to prepare for the Bellin Run because my goal is to walk the entire 6.2-mile course.
This is very challenging for me because with every step I take, I must concentrate on my breathing. I need all the support I can get.
So please think of me and if you’re either in the race or on the sidelines, yell and cheer loudly.
Thanks and God bless.
