Fundraising
Since the first Bellin Run starting gun fired in 1977 and throughout its remarkable growth and evolution to one of the largest 10K races in the United States, the intent of the annual Bellin Run has always been to give back to the community.
The Bellin Run has enriched the community by actively promoting health and fitness, maintaining race registration fees that are the lowest in the nation for an event of this caliber, and through innovative programs such as Kids for Running and the Corporate Challenge.
The growth of the event has presented an opportunity to expand the goodwill of the Bellin Run in the spirit of community. Six charitable organizations/programs have been designated to benefit from fundraising efforts through the Bellin Run.
Individuals may support one of these causes through two options:
- Make a Donation: choose a Bellin Run charity and make a one-time online donation.
- Become a Fundraiser: choose a Bellin Run charity, establish a profile page, set a goal, and then invite your family and friends to contribute.
The Bellin Run’s official charity partners are:
Thrive!
Thrive is dedicated to the improvement of health and wellness for area school children so they may have greater achievements in all areas of life. Working in cooperation with the school system, the program mentors children and families in the pursuit of wellness.
N.E.W. Community Clinic
N.E.W. Community Clinic is a non-profit medical facility providing quality health care to low income and underserved people in the community. There are three clinic sites in the area: two in downtown Green Bay and one on the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College campus.
Bellin College
For more than 100 years, Bellin College has been dedicated to training and educating health care professionals to handle the real-life challenges and rigors of the health care profession. Donations will support scholarships for aspiring students pursing these degrees: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences; Master of Science in Nursing.
The Cancer TEAM at Bellin Health and Bellin Expressive Arts in Medicine (BEAM) Program
The Cancer TEAM's vision is to create opportunities for patients and their families to heal minds, bodies and souls. In addition to state-of-the-art cancer-fighting technology, the facility offers innovative programs. The BEAM program integrates expressive arts programming into the health care setting as a way of supporting positive interpersonal connections between patients and their caregivers to promote a more comprehensive healing experience.
myTEAM TRIUMPH
myTEAM TRIUMPH is a non-profit athletic ride-along program created for children, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities who would normally not be able to experience events such as the Bellin Run. With the assistance of volunteers and specialized equipment, these individuals – team “captains” – get to experience the thrill of crossing the finish line.
The One Fund Boston
The Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest annual marathon, is a symbol of perseverance and accomplishment. In 2013, this icon of our sport was attacked with horrific violence, resulting in multiple deaths and many more injured.
The One Fund Boston was created as the single main fundraiser to assist those individuals and families most affected by the tragic events of that day and the days that followed.
The Bellin Run, with its own tradition in road racing and kindred relationship with the Boston Marathon, encourages you to make a direct contribution to the One Fund Boston.
